Jones isn't needed for a cap dump, because the buyout is managable, so the value is off if the Sharks don't include him. Sharks wouldn't trade Timo without a first

It's definitely fair value-wise, but like @jfrojelin said, Jones just isn't worth trading at this point to get rid of. His cap dump is much easier, and we aren't losing big assets and/or picks which we desperately need.

I think the Coyotes listen to a second rd pick for a player they very likely lose for nothing in the expansion draft

In what world is Kuemper not getting protected? Take it from the Coyotes fan here the Coyotes are not protecting Adin Hill over Kuemper. But let's suppose the Coyotes decide to make Kuemper available for trade (a definite possibility) a 2nd isn't enough for him, especially considering the competition the Sabres would have for his services. Also, why are the Coyotes taking Eakin back (unless it's part of a grand tanking plan in an effort to have as many very bad players as possible)

There will not be a ton of competition for a goalie on an expiring 4.5 million contract after a down season. Sure there will probably be multiple teams interested but for a mid round pick only not anything of significance. Eakin being taken back gets the Coyotes a 2nd rd pick in the return as opposed to a 3rd. Most Coyotes fans that I have seen comment expect Hill to be the goalie that gets protected.
