If he wasn't potentially damaged goods, the Blues might be interested in that. As is, probably not.

Sure I'll take Dunn, a deal for him is doable. Werenski would cost a ton. Frederic is fine, tough checking young guy but you can sign a guy for that role without giving up a pick. Taking advantage of teams befor the exp draft should be a priority.

"Better" because you're fleecing other teams in these trades. Werenski would cost you multiple 1sts and Frederic is a former 1st rounder.

So do you know who Frederic is? Bruins took him in the first round and he’s performing well in the NHL

Werenski isn't available unless we're getting a bona-fide similarly-aged #1C back, and the closest Detroit has to someone like that is Larkin who obviously isn't going anywhere, so...

That isn't even close for Werenski. This is Frederic's first full season in the NHL and since he was a 1st rd pick in 2016 its to soon to trade him. The Wings are still think Cholowski can make it and he is in the same draft class. I'm not sure why you'd trade for Frederic in the first place with Bertuzzi, Zadina, Vrana, Fabbri, and even Svechnikov had more points than Frederic in half the games. Plus Berrgren had a great season in the SHL he was in the top 10 in scoring and has a very good chance making the team out of camp. Detroit also has Raymond who we probably won't see until the end of the season but it is likely Detroit resigns Ryan who also had more points is less games than Frederic as well. Now Frederic could turn in to a great player but Detroit really doesn't need another winger especially with big holes at center and LD. Fabbri at center he had his shot and he just isn't an NHL center. At this point with both shoulders repaired and McIsaac skating again I'd hold off on that trade and save the pick. Detroit won't be a playoff team next season so why give up 2 assets for one player. Thinking you can speed up a rebuild by trading multiple assets for veteran players is what puts you into the never ending rebuild. Two things Yzerman mentions in every interview he does: Patience and getting more draft picks.

Ok they should do all of these trades but columbus and Boston decline. St louis may decline but I think its close enough that you could work something out.

I am thinking that if there is mutual interest between Detroit in Werenski they are more then likely to wait for him to hit UFA in 2 years, assuming he only signs a 1 year extension with Columbus after next season. If Detroit was to trade for him it would cost far more. Probably our 2021 1st, a high end prospect not names seider or raymond and a roster player.
