Because we have 5 LWs with a top 6 upside and a hole at RW. The press say that MN considers trading either Dumba or Greenway. I made a Dumba thread sometime ago and now it is time for the Greenway thread.

One team I do not want to trade him too is the Blues.

I’d entertain the MTL, LAK, and the CHI deals. I doubt CHI gives up a 1st even if value is fair, maybe Strome and/or Regula? As for MTL, I’d rather get one of their defense prospects. And why not try to snag Vilardi from LAK?

Also really liking the idea of Boqvist and a pick from NJD at this point.

Yeeeah, the Blues aren't doing that. Not even sure why you'd want to deal him to a division rival anyway. He's actually one of the few Wild players that actually performs against the Blues.

At a high level, I think the Hawks would generally say yes to the swap of Strome and Greenway. Hawks have too many centers...MIN has too many LWers...swap seems to make sense. Maybe a small pick gets exchanged...not imply which direction just something to "even out".

Interesting for MTL
If MTL are looking to move Drouin this offseason, I could see them doing that. Ylönen is stuck being Anderson Caufield Gallagher, so it will be hard playing top9 in a near future. MIN needs RH Forward and MTL are short on quality top 9 LW

I think the value in the Calgary deal isn't crazy far off, Calgary has got a pretty shallow system so it's always tough to lose a guy ready to graduate to the NHL.

Problem becomes, when you use Calgary as a team for this, you're essentially sending him to a team with the same problem as Minnesota, he'd be a 3rd line LW behind Tkachuk and Gaudreau, Flames need to get better down the middle and on the right.

I mean, as a Blues fan I'd accept that. Don't think Minnesota would do it. In fact it would seem counter productive to what Minnesota is building upon.

Out of all of these, I probably like the Vilardi deal the most. He's the best fit for our needs right now IMO. Dropping back about a round and a half and swapping out part of our LW logjam for a young, right shot center seems like a worthwhile deal. Not sure how much LA would love it, but if we're dealing Greenway, then this would be something I could get behind.
