I'm pretty sure those conditional picks on signing (such as that in the Laine trade) are no longer allowed under the current CBA.

      This is actually quite neat

At very least it's trying to do something

And I think succeeds in a lot of ways but man the Achilles heel is a big one with that Goaltending duo probably being one of the worst in the league

Price a year further from prime and Korpisucks

Otherwise pretty constructive and compelling ✔

AGM title checks out. Btw, you can't do the "if he re-signs" conditional pick anymore. And the Blues decline easy.

Well. What? Don't tell me this is another situation here where OP tries to do something unique and constructive and does a lot of positive things...

And people just trash the post rudely

      Without making a single argument

      🧐

      Nothing worse than that ultimately

Every trade here is at least roughly within range

Why do you say the title checks out 🤨

Lehkonen has pretty good underlying numbers

And is cost controlled... while Blais is quite flawed

1- Well, just for starters, you've got several trades that have little to no shot of being accepted, plus a couple that are unwise (like paying Brook and 2nd to swap Weber for Burns). Then, of course, there's the fact that you'd be turning over half the roster at one time - usually comes with a lengthy chemistry search. Then, there's the fact that you've cleaned out the draft coffers for three years. Finally, and perhaps best of all, you've spent straight up to the cap while leaving yourself with several important players who'll require a raise after the season. It's all a rich tapestry of "Idea that is not good". You nailed it.

2- Lehkonen's underlying numbers are okay, but Blais has the better overlying numbers and he already is comfy in the Blues system. While an extra 3rd would be nice enough, Hudon has no value to the Blues and they sure as heck don't need any more LDs, let alone one who is a major longshot like Leguerrier. Plus you've handed us three guys that would need a new contract for one who does. Besides, I suspect Seattle might just go ahead and take Lehko straight away from us in the expansion draft anyway. Army isn't big on change for the sake of change moves. He prefers cohesion. I'm the same way. Hell, you'd probably get a better response if you just offered a 3rd for Blais.

I couldn’t find any cheaper of a goalie tandem that would’ve been better, and I wasn’t going to put Primeau as the backup for the season
