1.

    LTIRed.
    SEA
    1. Weber, Shea
    Additional Details:
He's in the last years of his heavily front-loaded contract, is soon 36 and his play has significantly decreased. Yet his already damaged body is once again injured. Not as far-fetched as it may seem.

      3.
      MTL
      1. Ristolainen, Rasmus
      Additional Details:
Not a fan of trading Drouin, but I would entertain the idea of trading him for an offensive defenseman. Even if Ristolainen gets criticized a lot, I do think he would be a decent #2 RD in a more sheltered role with less minutes.

Webber will play next season in Montreal in my opinion, but I have no doubt he ends up finishing his career somewhere where an owner needs to hit the cap floor but doesn’t want to pay the actual money to do it. That 1 mil actual salary for 7+ mil cap hit plus the name will be gold to a cheap ass owner.

i dont think Weber plays the final 2 years of his contract for $1M actual $$

that would be a very tradable contract though to a cap floor team

Would NSH get caught with a cap hit if he retires? Like VAN and Luongo?

Not necessarily tied into the future, but per Friedman: Right-shooting Shea Weber skated with a left-shot stick on Monday, not using his injured left hand. There were rumours he would be out long-term, but I was reminded, “Always assume Shea Weber will do everything possible to avoid being out long-term."

This sort of has me on the side that Weber will play for as long as he can play for. I doubt that he ends up playing for the entirety of his contract, but I also doubt that he "LTIR's" himself for at least another couple of years.

They would, but it's not as expensive as it was projected to be it's just longer

I guess they can blame PHI for that. Hindsight can be a **** but I wonder if they take the two firsts, 1 second, 1 third.

It's admirable that his love for the game makes him overcome injuries and all, but thing is, since he's out :
-The Habs have won all three games
-Nick Suzuki has 7 points in 3 games and is looking like a real 1C
-Jeff Petry is back to his form of the beginning of the season with 6 pts in 3 games
-Ben Chiarot, Weber's primary partner, is playing better than ever

It just shows how he made the team worse when he played. The question is how much of his bad performances can be attributed to his recent injury.

I say it all the time but will say it again. Risto is a much better player than he is given credit. Just a product of a poor team and system. Habs would do well in this trade.

Those contracts were big loophole at the time, hence why there are such penalties lol. Hopefully they almost all expired, the last ones are Carter, Crosby, Quick, Parise, Suter, Weber, Keith. The two Wild players are probably the riskiest and they screw the Wild itself.

He's in the same situation as Jones, Morrissey. They got bad stats because they crazy minutes, but any other defensemen of their team in their spot and it's even worse.

100% agree! Risto, Jones, Morissey, would take them on my team any day. Analytics are great... but don't show the whole picture.
