Oil want to upgrade on G. Rangers look light on right D, here's my sales pitch for Ethan Bear.

Bear had a breakout year last year and was a great top4 D for us. He's a bit smaller but solid on D, moves the puck well, and has some offense as well. This year he started as our #1RD but lost his job to Tyson Barrie after a concussion. He's had a bit of a slow start coming back but is playing well again. Both Barrie and Bear have done very well as our #1RD but Barrie has elite offense. Oil need a shut down D (Larsson) and Bouchard is our future #1D so Bear is the odd man out, it doesn't make sense for us to keep his as #7 D as he's capable of much more. Here is a comparison of how he has faired as our #1RD compared to Barrie, notice Bear's numbers are better!

Other part of the trade is Koskinen, he's a decent backup but not a #1. We take some money to make it fair and we get to keep running with Mike Smith with a decent option if/when his performance drops.

Also curious if Rangers fans would be interested in our tough guy Kassian. He's fast and posted good 5v5 numbers with McDavid in his contract year last year but has been inconsistent since. But he is our muscle and it seems like Rangers might like some of that right about now.
