Garland for Debrusk

Created by: kscoop
Team: 2021-22 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: May 5, 2021
Published: May 5, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Seattle takes Moore and receive Steen. A good get for an expansion team. Debrusk for Garland seems fair especially if Garland decides to hold out. Signed Garland on a 3 year deal at 3.5 making him a UFA at end of contract, hence why the aav is a tad low.

And why would the Coyotes do that?

While Debrusk hasn't been good this year, Garland hasn't set the world on fire. I also mentioned 'if' Garland holds out and doesn't want to sign. Getting a player back that has scored 27 in a season and has the ability to be a perennial 25 goal scorer isn't a bad return.

Oh straight up you mean

Golly

😐

Garland is like 1.5x as good though

Not even Vladar etc. along with DeBrusk?

Thanks. Debrusk having an off year. Doesn't get any PP time. However, if you think Debrusk isn't good I don't know what to tell you. You probably thought Hall stunk also.... Change of scenery and more ice time would do wonders for Debrusk.

Go ahead and include Vladar.

?

Garland has ~ 2x as many primary pts as DeB has pts

Please read that sentence again

Aside his typical elite possession numbers 💯

He set the world on fire the first half of the season as an absolutely electric catalyst and by far drove the line consisting of two other very good players like, wow

I see the next 5 years of him as Ehlers esque

Debrusk might well stagnate as a Kerfoot level W

If I'm Seattle I'm easily taking Lauzon over Moore+Steen.

And ARI will easily decline that trade. No team is trading a top-6 asset for a mid-6 asset.

A change of scenery from Buffalo to Boston is a universe apart from a change of scenery from Boston to Arizona. You can expect players to perform better when going to a better team, and less well when going to a lesser team.

The problem with trading debrusk right now is you’re not going to get anywhere close to fair value for him? Think you’re going to get 27 goal in 68 game value for debrusk? Well, you’re not, he just put up a stinker of a season, and other GMs were watching. That’s why i just don’t think it makes any sense to trade debrusk this off season. His upside is so much higher than his trade value.

Hell, I'd prefer Frederic or Clifton or even Zboril to Moore + Steen. I think it would take Beecher or Lauko to sweeten that pill sufficiently.

Easily. There's over 5 players available for SEA to pick from BOS that are more enticing than a Moore+Steen package.

Seriously. Offering up an asset with less value than what they could just pick in the draft to take a bad contract. Wacky.

He would 'hold out' in Arz but sign 3x3.5 in Boston???

The logic is going to be that he’s from boston and still lives in mass in the off season, but you’re right, he doesn’t sign that. Pretty player friendly term to get him to UFA though i suppose.

I don't think Debrusk has nearly the value as Garland.
Would take considerably more from Bruins.

I mean it would make sense, but they could easily ask for a 2nd or even a first in addition to DeBrusk.
