    One is an underperforming middle 6 player who has shown flashes, and most important has 1 year of term left at probably 2M overpaid


    The other is at best a bottom pairing dman who is terrible defensively and is paid 3M extra for 5 more years.

    Matheson has been great this season (in a top 4 role, no less)...but I guess reputations are hard to shake I guess. But the way I see it...it solves a major LHD problem CBJ has.

    Werenski and Gavrikov as your top 4 D isn't really a problem lol they're both more valuable. Finding decent bottom pair D isn't hard either. Matheson has been better but he still doesn't live to his contract especially considering the amount of players we have to sign in the next 2 years. If he had 1 year left like domi, maybe
