Definitely on board with shipping him to Dallas or wherever for a 3rd/4th instead. Just think Kase’s worth the 1-yr flyer and if not put in Blichfeld.

I don't think he's worth much more than that at this point tbh.

For a minute there I was confused about which Merkley we were talking about 😂

Has he really been that egregious for NJ? I know he's been waiver wire man #1 but any chance he bounces back in a fresh start elsewhere?

Kuznetsov for Meier and Labanc? I like the value and the term on their contracts, but it pushes WSH over the cap. If they throw in Hagelin to balance the dollars among the forwards, then they end up with a lot of wings and not a lot of centers: Backstrom, Eller, Dowd, prospects. Is McMichael ready? Probably. Can they add a cheap UFA? Only if they can offload some cap to SLE.

Swapping Samsonov for Korenar is going to take a prospect, because it makes WSH a little less proven at goalie and doesn't help with their expansion strategy. I think if they're trading Samsonov they'd be after a solid RD or F prospect who is expansion exempt.
