Interesting, whether people value a guy with two 70 point seasons, who scores goals, or a guy with two seventy point seasons, an eighty point season, and a thirty point postseason.

Doubt the Rangers trade Hajek for a 4th, though. Hajek for Kempny? Maybe. 4th? No.

Casually glossing over the fact that one of zibanejads 70+ point seasons was in 50 games, kuznetsovs off ice issues the past two years, and the fact his last two seasons have not been good.

How many active centers have a postseason with more points than Kuznetsov? I think it's just Malkin, but I haven't looked it up in a minute. The Rangers are trying their best to still be rivals with the Caps, through their rebuild, so they don't want to trade with WSH. It isn't happening. But it's fairly even, if the Caps needed a goal scorer, and if the Rangers were worried about the playoffs.

Comparing just playoff statistics is a sure fire way to lose a trade. Mika hasn’t really been in that many years of playoffs (31 total games) and only one series since he broke out and became and elite player. In that one series the rangers were dominated in three games and Mika had two points. Kuznetsov had one very good playoff run (the year caps won the cup) but hasn’t gotten back to that level either in playoffs or regular season. Right now, Mika is the better player even before the off ice issues kuznetsov has. Think those will get better going from DC to NYC? Think again

Zibanejad is awesome and very valuable.

OP is a Leafs fan and has the Rangers adding more than the Caps, but WSH doesn't need more depth at LHD, and NYR don't want to trade with Washington after they fired their GM for acknowledging that Tom Wilson did not actually punch Buchnevich in the head.
