My guess wld be because they clearly aren't anywhere near ready to challenge for playoffs let alone the cup, so why keep a player who's in his mid 20s over acquiring potentially 4 NHL prospects?

My question was more what you're trading back. My understanding is fleury is meh. Poehling is meh.

Vrana is one of the best young goal scorers in the league.

Let's say Byron's contract costs you Montreal's 2nd to dump plus a little more

So that little more makes Tampa's second into a generic third. So 2 meh prospects and a 3rd for vrana? Hard pass

Haul? A cap dump, 2 mid to late second round picks, a bottom six forward prospect, and ehhh d prospect is your definition of haul?

A haul yes trade is no haul.

Sorry but Wings maybe 3 years away, Vrana will.only 28.

You Hab fans really get my goat. This trade does nothing to help Wings, only prolongs the rebuild..

Poehling showed his true colors this year and projects as a bottom six player. Fluery maybe good, but that is a maybe and two low round picks along with a cap dump, well it just does not cut it.
