Good luck with that, Dallas blocks your number immediately. It would take about three first to even consider taking those contracts, and for trading our captain (I know his contract isn't the best, but he has excellent leadership and he helps the youth) it would take another first.

The worst contract in this trade is Benn’s. It has the highest aav, the longest term, and has the most trade restrictions. Benn is probably the best player, but honestly he’s not much better than Myers. Eriksson and sekera come off the books in one year each and are only there to even out the money. The idea that the Canucks would have to add 4 first round picks to even out the value is laughable.

I understand if the fit isn’t there or if dallas would rather just carry the contract than try and move it, but the value is very close in this trade

Myers is bad defensively and isn't bright offensively, his playoff skills really aren't there. While Benn is an excellent leader and is still a solid player, he's on a 53 point pace and is contributing to our team with his physical play and his half decent defensive game, he's also a playoff beast for us.

Even with the salary being even we don't want a border line AHL player for 6 million. Myers also wouldn't make our top 6 so it's 12 million for an AHL player and a bottom 6 d-man. While we give up a top 6 winger who has a big impact on the community.

Oh man.
