I would bank on Dadonov bouncing back next year. He's been a huge disappointment this year, but is still on a 20 goal pace. He's gonna play with Stützle who I think is going to take a huge step next year, and they're supposedly looking to add a 2C to fill out the offense. I think it's going to be a much better spot for him next year, and he's got a way higher shot at being a real impactful player for Ottawa next year than Stalman does.

I do like the Granlund signing though. I think he's one of the names I would consider as options to fill that 2C slot next year. Stützle-Granlund-Dadonov seems like it could be a really nice line. Probably not the top choice because he's not necessarily a full time C (though I think he's an adequate C with 2nd line skill).

    It’s sarcasm
Think taking Byron would cost Mysak + a 2nd is insane

I feel like Batherson insists on a shorter term contract at that $ to try and hopefully for him get a big contract in his late 20s when the cap should be okay again

What do you think it takes? He’ll have 2 more years at 3.4m after this season

    Dumping 6.8M typically does cost

Mysak fell to what, the 3rd? He doesnt carry the pedigree you think he does.

Mysak was a mid 2nd round pick who played good in the AHL at 18 yo so he got is ELC at 18 yo. MTL wouldnt trade Mysak to get rid of Byron
MTL doesnt need to trade Byron

I dont think so either, but MTL fans all want to.

The point being, is that dumping 6.8M isnt free. OTT wouldnt do it for just a 2nd.

Ok, but MTL wouldn’t do it FOR a 2nd
Bergevin doesn’t consider Byron a cap dump, he is overpaid tho but still a decent player. Won’t score 20 goals, but at 2M, nobody would be trading him
