I Was Opposed to an Eichel Trade But Now that Dolan is Meddling

Created by: Shakabakes
Team: 2021-22 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: May 6, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
It's only a matter of time before an Eichel trade (or something similar) takes place. Dolan is clearly impatient. And after watching this team get manhandled by the Isles and Caps, he is looking to push a Carmelo type deal (and some muscle moves) to speed up the process.

Changes had to be made this Offseason, there is no question. But we all knew this was an unfinished product. Just hoping he doesn't hurt the Rangers future while trying to take a shortcut early on.

You also said no way Trouba goes to the Rangers. Stranger things have happened.

I said all along it was between the Rangers and Red Wings, By all account those were the only two teams he'd sign with. Gorton gave Chevy what he wanted and Holland didn't. Plus the Rangers had the upper hand due to Trouba's Wife Kelly Tyson going to be a Dr there in New York City. Still wouldn't shock me to see Trouba ends his career in Detroit once they're competitive in a few years.

I’m all for trading greenway, but strome is not a potential target for the wild. Too slow although he can shoot.

Picked his game up a lot this year. Put the naysayers to bed that he can only play with Panarin. Figured the Wild needed Centers, so worth a shot.

The Eichel trade is well within the realm of reason. This exchange (with three prime prospects and two additional firsts) could easily happen, and the idea that Buffalo would turn it down is silly.

I highly doubt he’s as impatient as it sounds. Firings I personally don’t believe have anything to do with results of this year and everything to do with what’s transpired over the past week. Admitting to that would only cause more unwanted attention to that situation and story’s will get twisted creating more headaches saying it’s based on performance just puts the issue at rest faster. Team was and is heading in a positive direction

You are wrong, we have no motivation to trade Eichel and he signed his contract himself. Chytil and Kravtsov do not move the needle, the first rounds too. This is bad for Sabres.

I agree that Buffalo has no motivation to trade Eichel, and the Rangers have no motivation to trade for him. But IF such a trade happened, this is what a fair one would look like, in my opinion. The idea that what are the equivalent of five first-round picks wouldn't be proper compensation for Eichel is just cuckoo. Buffalo (and, to a lesser extent, Edmonton) has proven over the past 5 years that you don't win with one or even two superstars and cannon fodder; you need a full, in-depth TEAM.

Yea I think you can prob take out one of the 1sts and it’s still within the realm. Sabres fans just can’t see the reality of if he does get traded it won’t be for the world.

This is not the point, Laf or Kakko should be on the table for a player like Eichel, otherwise Adams shouldn't even listen. Chytil, Kravtsov and the first rounds are not bad, but I would like to get a more impressive prospect.

The only more or less reliable rumor was that when Gorton called Adams, he said that it should be Laf + Kakko + first round. Probably Gorton of course did not agree, but now neither Gorton nor Davidson is in the club and I do not know what plan the owner of the Rangers has.

I'm not going to say Strome is a bad trade for the Wild but I don't think Guerin would give a 2nd as well maybe a additional draft pick but 2nd seems to high. Also Wild really can't do this deal until they get the expansion draft sorted out.
