Caps might consider this if Rangers gave a 1st rounder instead of these three picks and if a forward prospect was included instead of Robertson. Caps don't need any more LHDs.

Why would you give up a near ppg center that clearly has chemistry with Panarin and sucks on faceoffs, for a center thats talented and might be a ppg player with Panarin and sucks on faceoffs?

This is about as lateral a move as you can make, while also losing a stud prospect in Robertson.

That package wouldn't really entice Caps to move a highly skilled center to a rival.
