Sure, suspend Buch. But until they suspend Wilson for rest of year, they should expect these type of games to continue.

You kidding me??
Wilson punching Buch while Buch was in an awkward, defenseless position with his head pushed to the ice and his neck against a stick, and his right arm twisted up...pretty damn dirty...in all fairness the punches weren’t death blows- but maybe thanks to Strome jumping in injury to Buch was avoided....which of course led to Panarin jumping on Wilson (to try prevent Strome getting rag dolled (the way he eventually did).

I’m fine with Buch getting suspended for his attacking Mantha (even though Mantha provoked)...but to marginalize what Wilson did versus what Buch did a game later is downright insane....Wilson showed that night....just as he has shown numerous times...that he has no regard for players’ safety. He should have been suspended remainder of regular season and first round of the playoffs...for whatever reason his “consequences” on ensuing violations are getting more and more minimal....this league is failing its players.

No I’m not kidding you. A cross check to the face is more dangerous than a punch (this wasn’t a haymaker guys) to the shoulder/neck/head area. Not saying what Wilson did was clean here my guy. Everything that followed the Buch on the ice and defenceless part, I would say is a scrum, and to which that is hockey, there was nothing insane about what happened. Wilson was worked up and fighting harder than the rest of the guys were, he’s also stronger. I’m not a caps fan.

Don’t take the Wilson play in a vacuum and the Mantha play as the whole play. Buch kicked the goalie, so if we are going to include the taps on the leg (I can’t believe this is a selling point for rangers fans believing Mantha deserved this cross check to the face), then let’s include the kick in considering the way those plays developed. Both were dirty, Busch’s was worse. You’re free to think differently, I’m not a fan of either team in this scenario and I think the league sees it the same way

Following up on my above with a short question. As a player have you been punched with a helmet, a glove, or both on? How about taking a hi-stick right to the face? Well in my experience the hi-stick feels much worse. That’s without it even being a forceful cross check. That’s how I’m looking at it, there is equipment protecting Buch, him being right against the ice probably doesn’t make it more dangerous because the transfer of energy is going to go from his equipment into the ice and there’s no whiplash effect there

Gonna go out on a limb here and guess that the shot Mantha took from Buch hurt more than the punches Wilson put on Buch....but you are really missing the point- which is that Wilson continually looks to hit players when they are extremely vulnerable....Buch was in a position where he couldn’t defend himself and if the punches continued (and Wilson wasn’t letting up until Strome got involved), given his awkward position he could have taken a punch which caused serious injury to his neck, the disks, etc....doesn’t take much of a shot to cause serious damage.

Ok sure, if that’s the point you were trying to make then yeah, Wilson can be a dirty player. I do think he is quite effective in his role but that’s a different point to this all. I don’t see it as Wilson would have kept pounding on the guy on the ice, but it’s unknown so sure. My point originally was only to say that Buch’s play was dirtier than Wilson’s, not that Buch or someone else is a dirtier player than Wilson . So maybe we were looking at this from different angles

Edit: put Buch name in where should have said Wilson

Fair enough...sad thing is that Wilson is a REALLY good hockey player....he doesn’t need to be dirty to be very effective....but he seemingly can’t help himself from making vicious hits on vulnerable players where he appears he is trying to injure someone...you can be real physical and not do that stuff....as far as Buch- can’t condone a cross check to another’s face...and while he can play with edge- that type of hit is not his game....unfortunately that hit and the rest of the fiasco last night was a direct result of the Ranger players’ perception that once again the NHL failed to properly address the actions of a dangerous bully...so they tried to take matters in their hands...that is not good for the game.

so by that logic you are okay with Wilson beating up Panarin since he jumped on his back OR are you just one giant hypocrite?

It was Wilson who instigated the fracas by jumping on Strome. Are you blind, or just dishonest?
