Description
Before you freak out over my picks, I just want to say that I’m sure there will be more deals for Seattle to take on contracts, and different players selected. These are just SOME of the guys that I’m sure Seattle will pick up.

My main point of this ACGM is to ask the question, WHY NOT?

WHY NOT draft a cheap cap hit team, and then go after a couple of UFA in the off season.

Does Ovechkin leave Washington? Highly very super unlikely to ever happen. But if he’s offer $12 or $13 million to be the face of a new franchise, WHY NOT!?!?

WHY NOT offer some big free agents (if not already resigned) to large money contracts for 2-4 years, while players develop.

Many of the UFA are still “young”, RNH, Landeskog, Hamilton, so they’ll probably want more term. But for someone like Ovechkin, WHY NOT make $50 million in 4 years.

WHY NOOOT!!!!!

I agree. He’s loyal to the Caps, as I’m sure many if not all UFA are.

But like I said. WHY NOT? Seattle offers him $15 million a year for 3 or 4 years. WHY NOT?

Is he money hungry? Probably not, but WHY NOT?

Who are they protecting? From your perspective/opinion. Theres just so many mocks out there, and deals to be made pre-draft. Who knows what protection lists will actually look like.

Not sure if your eyes work, but I signed all the RFA to $1 million.

Probably 4F and 4D, and re-sign Hyman after the expansion draft (or in the event Seattle takes him, once FA opens)

But that's not realistic, especially when they would've probably costed an extra $5 million to sign to real contracts. This is why signing Ovechkin wouldn't happen. You can't go out and spend money you don't actually have on UFAs.

He wants to break Gretzky’s record. He won’t sign with a bottom team.
