Description
I got two different returns for Lindell: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/446673, and I'm doing both scenarios for two years.

Disclaimer - Don't go saying "the Jets say no!". I said that I was going to both scenarios for both of the trades I got, and that's what I'm doing right now.

I do think Winnipeg could be interested.

I’m not sure they’d give up Copp though.

It’s definitely an interesting though however.

In desc I put a link to the thread where I got Lindell trade suggestions. I said to the guy that I was going to do both trades for 2 years, I'm not a liar so I put my money where my mouth is.

I would love that we would trade Lindell for either scenarios.

Again, it’s not that I dislike the guy but that contract and that NMC makes it difficult to sign Miro, Klingberg and have some money left for help with the forwards.

And we are so unbalanced toward defense that it’s god damn time to level up this team.

The big problem here is Nill and Bowness. I am afraid that these two genius believes that Lindell is more important to this team than Klingberg.

Bowness for instance keeps on throwing Lindell on the PP instead of Vatanen. This, when Vatanen is not healthy scratch.

No wonder Bowness’ record as a NHL coach is absolutely disastrous.

Don't see Heiskanen signing 7.5 for more than 3/4 years

Still liking this deal now! Copp wants to be in the US, so this is sort of a win win for both teams. Essentially I view this as samberg + 2nd for Lindell. Copp wasn’t going to sign with us long term anyways, and we’d either lose him at the ED, or next year in FA, so I don’t mind using him in a trade.

Jets would just need to find a replacement for Copp. But that’s okay.

Chabot got an 8 x 8 contract. Heiskanen didn't have his best year, it could be in his best interest of signing a bridge deal, but he's getting the close to the same contract as Chabot. Another comparable is Ekblad he got a 7.5 x 8. Getting the same deal as guys like Chabot and Ekblad is more than fair IMO.

Agree 100%. I made one that I had a defense of:

Heiskanen-Pulock
Harley-Klingberg

I don't know if it was too much on defense, but this is a really solid d-core with a good forward core as well.

Really? Does Copp not like The Peg? Or is it something else?

Well, he filed for arbitration last year. His agent Kurt Overhardt is a POS. They’ll likely file for arbitration again this year, walking him to FA. Think he wants a more prominent role, that the Jets aren’t willing to commit to.

I think he just genuinely wants to be in the US. He likes the organization, but thinks it’s about being in the states where taxes are lower.

FWIW, Evolving Hockey has Heiskanen's projected term and AAV at 8 x $8.252 million. They have the next likely outcome at 6 x $7.230 million

It’s either my contract or the big 8.5 x 8 contract, we’ll have to see to find out. Hopefully he takes the cheeper contract instead, but we’ll have to wait.

Also signing a deal until 28 has more leverage for you than at 30. He’s more likely to get a big contract later if he takes the lesser deal now.
