Laine to Florida to play with Barkov
Lundell to Columbus

Would love to see someone try that move

Looks like laine and jarmo are both wanting to see him back again next year. He’s taken this season as humbling and is going to work in the offseason in Columbus. So probably not for sale

All reported by tsn Darin dreiger (or however you spell it)

Pretty sure qualifying offers aren't for 8 years.

He's will sign a QO... 1 year at $7.5 million in Columbus. There won't be any sizeable offer sheets, as that would be a huge risk to pay so much that CBJ wouldnt match.

Nope but its the minimum you'd have to offer. Getting him for 8 years rather than 1 at that price is just a bonus.

No it's not. You can offer less than the QO AAV. The benefit to Laine would be the additional term. Would he prefer 8 years @ $6.5M to 1 year @ $7.5M? It's quite possible.

Can I take what I'm owed or bet against myself? What an obvious choice, lmao.

Tortorella won't be fired... but pretty much nobody thinks he'll have his contract extended, and it's up after this year.

I think the potential payoff of rehabbing Laine under new circumstances is so great that there's no point in trading him unless we get principal needs filled - and right now the only one of substance is a defensively-minded top-6 center who can match up against top lines and thereby shield guys like Roslovic and Texier (and Domi) while they work on their games. So while the proposal is potentially really good value, I'm not sure how much of a fit it truly is. So I'm conflicted there. smile
