If Ovi decides to leave

I know this won't happen because Ovi wouldn't leave Washington, but if they decide to rebuild, trading away Kuznestov, Oshie, etc, maybe Ovi leaves for more money? Probably not though.

Like you said, it won't happen, but if he does hit free agency I don't know who can offer more than the Devils and he immediately makes them a playoff team. He'd be foolish to turn down something like $14-16M for three years.

They can. They have 5 mil in cap space, next offseason Subbans contract comes off the books which makes 14 mil. Bratt gets 3 mil raise and Zacha gets 2 mil raise. Hughes gets 7 mil bridge deal.

Ovi signing is very unlikely but the Devils can make it work
