Bad trade for us. I think Montreal is satisfied with his production.

They would want too much. I would go for one of Zach Hyman, Brandon Saad, Blake Coleman, or Tomas Tatar. We could get some good players if we are smart with our cap.

Think about it this way, what would you have wanted to get in return for RNH? Then Double the offer Due to Contract value and point production this year!

appart from ELC player... name me a better Goal/per $ than Toffoli. He is fourth in goals in the league... and the cheapest on the top 10.

Not a chance bud.. do you actually think he will maintain this scoring pace last this season? Will Mathews score 82 goals next year? Will McDavid get 150 points? No. The inky reason some players are playing this well are because they have been playing the same teams so much. Next year everything will probably level back out. Including Tyler Toffoli. He is still on a valuable contract for sure. But he's not worth more then a first and a good prospect or two, max. The trade above is an over pay.

Exactly what I said above. He's only playing well because he's playing the same teams 10 times. Some times the same team multiple times within a very short period of time. Everything will level out next year. He's not worth more then a first and a prospect. The above trade is an overpay.

Keep telling yourself that, if it makes you feel better, but IF you want Toffoli you better be willing to give up more than the ridiculousness above. RNH and Toffoli are always close to the same goals totals (edge to RNH), they are close in age, close in GPG (RNH 0.28 TT 0.30) PPG are relatively close (RNH 0.73 ppg Toffoli 0.60 ppg), keeping in mind that RNH plays with 2 of the best players in the world where Toffoli plays with significantly less talent. the ONLY significant difference is their contracts and in a cap world that is HUGE. Also RNH is a UFA this season and is going to be looking for a significant raise. These are all of the reasons why Oil fans are trying to trade for Toffoli now instead of focusing on how to keep RNH.

But with a flapcap - a guy that can 100% get at least 20 goals (and he has done so consistently in LA) for 4.25M is a real good price. He's been playing great.

The players you are sending are meh. 4 contract... and none of them raise my heart rate.

None of the players you've sent fills a hole in our lineup or makes us better.

That's still an over pay.. what I said is a fact. Nuge is also a natural center, who's played there is while life, who only started playing wing this and last season. Centered us own line, only playing with those players on the PP, who best wingers at any time in his career were Hall and Eberle, who were good but were leading a team at 18-22 and he was still good. Toffoli played with elite talent on the kIngs. Regardless, Nuge had nothing to do with my comment. But I had to prove you wrong anyways. The above trade is an EXTREME over pay. Not a single team in the league would give MTL that.

Wow are you like 10? The amount of spelling and grammar mistakes made this too difficult to read through entirely.

Even IF you consider RNH as a center the value of a sniping winger is higher than a 2nd or 3rd line center. Do you seriously think that RNH has more value than Ehlers, Connor or Laine just cause they are 30+ goal scoring wingers and he is a center? Give your head a shake! Goal scorers come at a premium in the NHL. The reason you want Toffoli is cause you know just like every other fan out there that he is a guy who puts the puck in the net but you just don't want to pay the price for the talent. Hence the Habs pass at this lowball offer.
