    Man Buffalo gets fleeced here.

That package alone doesn’t get you close to Eichel, let alone adding dahlin.

Jones is 100% walking as a free agent if he goes to Buffalo.

To be completely honest, I don’t think CBJ even has the pieces to get eichel. Maybe Chinakhov + Foudy + Werenski and a pick for Eichel. Then add more for dahlin.

Criminy, while we're daydreaming about absurdly good deals for the Jackets, why don't we just swap out Jones with Gavrikov and throw in Buffalo's 1st while we're at it.

You know what? I think maybe 1 or 2 teams have both the want/need and the pieces to actually get Eichel. That by definition lowers what Buffalo can realistically get for him.

The worst trade Buffalo can do for Eichel is actually going ahead with it. Any trade they make is going to be less good than simply keeping him IMO. Now they may not have a choice, so that hampers them even further but assuming Eichel is willing to ride out his contract in Buffalo, keeping him has to be the main priority.

Buffalo's best option is to keep Eichel happy over any possible trade. They will not get their full value back in any trade. They just won't.

Theirs a difference between not getting full value for Eichel and throwing him away for spare parts that the Sabres dont even need, let alone tacking on Dahlin

Oh i hear ya. Im not endorsing the above trade. Just that it really sucks the position the sabres are in with Eichel if he does force a trade. The best possible scenario for them is making it work with him vs any realistic trade for him.
