Do hawks really need a center? Is Toews done for? If so shouldn’t they just go full rebuild mode? Dach and Toews are 1-2c right?

I might do this. Guess it depends on how good you think vanacek is. We are gonna need 2 goalies for next year, i dont have much confidence that we are gonna find anything useful- with our front office and this particular draft- at the end of round 2.

There's talk that Vanacek will be the goaltender that Washington protects; Samsonov has had multiple off-ice issues. One fan even wrote in the Post that he's a diva.

IMHO, EDM and Tor could add Vanecek or someone like him and expose Koskinen and Campbell without losing them. Florida could protect Vanecek and Seattle wouldn't touch Bob with a ten foot pole, plus Fla could still sign Drieger later, if they wanted three goalies. Same with MTL and Price. Some Colorado fans are making goalie for goalie offers to WSH but so far not adding anything interesting. Do Chicago, SJ, Ott, or Detroit have goalies they need to protect? That's only about nine teams that could look to add a goalie before expansion, but teams that could trade one away as good as Vanecek are:

But Montreal could try to move Allen, and Dallas Khudobin, etc.

Yep. Raanta. Drieger as a UFA later. Between 31 NHL teams, there are something like 70 NHL goalies. But only one 25 year old who's top-10 in wins this year is the subject of trade rumors. Lowball away, but also read what other teams' fans are offering.

I might be willing to offer the Florida 3rd. But for a second I could get a more established and better goalie IMO. Or sign a UFA

Andersen, Drieger, and Grubauer are good. Divide them among nine teams that could use a goalie. Add Raanta, Allen, and Khudobin to the mix. You've got goalies for six of nine teams looking. Still likely end up with three teams left out. Is Buffalo's young and improving defense a selling point for a UFA goalie, or a concern? Let's say your Andersen, looking at $2Mx2 from Buffalo or the same to stay in Toronto. Are you more worried about losing the starting job again to Campbell, or about moving to a new city and being hung out to dry? I think Holtby could be an under-the-radar fit for Buffalo, if you think he can bounce back, and/or still wants to. You could trade for Allen, who has one career thirty win season, and see if he gets another one. I don't think Buffalo needs to win right away, and I'm not sure Vanecek and Ullmark are an elite goaltending pair to get them there, if they want to. But I'm curious if there's a better/cheaper option. I think WSH needs RHD prospects more than picks. Buf seems to have extra RHD, so there could be something where Buf feels like they're giving up less than an early 2nd, but WSH thinks they're getting more? Who ya got?
