Why not just re-sign hall?

A struggling forward, a struggling prospect, and a 2nd? Really? ... it costs more than that to get Garland. Arizona has already said they'd only move him to significantly restock the prospects in their system. This doesn't do that

This works for both sides, here.

Both Boston and Arizona decline.

Boston declines based on massive overpay.

Zona declines based on taking Debrusk contract defeats the purpose of trading Garland.

I do that caps trade for sure. Dillon is solid, but we just need the cap space and we have a logjam at LD.

This is a horrible deal for the Bruins.

Garland is a nice player, but A) never scored more than 22 goals. Debrusk has a career high of 27.
Garland is a year older and has averaged 48pts/82gp over his career
Debrusk has averaged 45pts/82gp over his career.

That includes Debrusk horrible season this year.
Possesion metrics are in Debrusk's favor as well.

you are basing everything over a 40game stretch.

Nope.
