(Just my opinion) Stanley will probably make 1-2M for a few years, MacEwen will probably be around 1-1.5, Foligno around 2-3M

The bad contracts we have are the ones that cant be moved. Like Kreider, good player, bad contract. other than that its pretty much all elcs and prospects.

Marcus foligno isn't available. Wild aren't trading him. He was signed to an economic for a reason. His new contract extension if 3 years doesn't began till season opener

Marcus foligno is wild lockeroom leader, & big part of wild. He's not going anywhere

figured that, but still would like to know what (if in a crazy alternate universe where everything is the same except the gm loses his mind and wants to get rid of him) his trade value would be.

The ask last deadline was that it would take a 1st round pick to get him to even pick up the phone. But pretty much Marcus foligno was untouchable to wild gm Guerin

He loves him , & he will be protected in expansion draft. He shares agent with zuccarello, & 1 other wild player

Foligno on his contract would probably be a 1st 2nd and best C prospect. It would need to be something serious like that to get Guerin talking. Serious overpayment on his contract seeings how he’s a top 5 defensive forward in the league. Doesn’t have the offense for real selke consideration.

What about a player like Buchnevich? Much younger and better point producer. Also an RFA

From the responses- looks like the Wild found “their guy” in Foligno....that being the case, only a big overpay would peek Guerin’s interest...and Buch would be a massive overpay. For what you’re looking to add from a player like Foligno, there should be no shortage of options out there (after the playoffs are complete) which don’t require gutting the prospect pool or underselling a player on the roster.
As far as Buch- for now, unless his contract demand is outlandish...the guy has earned a nice contract in the 5-6 year range....unless he is part of a deal to upgrade 1c or 2C, give him that contract.

Buch is expendable imo. giving him a 5-6 mil contract (assuming 5-7 yrs and ntc/nmc) will leave little room for our prospects to flourish and also take away a big amount of the cap space we need to sign players like Laf, Kakko, Fox***, Miller, Lindgren, etc...

I was making another gm for after the discussion, had Deangelo and Gauthier in the trade. makes sense to me.

Certainly not wrong with this point...depending what happens with Zib and Strome- Buch’s cap hit will make things dicey...depending on what happens, the resulting #’s, and the projected salary cap going forward (following tv deal), I would consider stringing a few of the young guys out on bridge deals a few years until the noose loosens regarding the Trouba and Kreider deals. But if it is determined Buch must be moved now- I just hope his trade involves a young C coming back...even if we need to add to get that deal done.

Yeah- not worth the 8M cap hit which will not go away...but the last 3 years he’s owed 20M...as his contract gets to its later years NYR might become willing to retain salary- which would lower the cap hit...assuming he can play- another team might be willing to pay him 10m over 3 years- with a 4m cap hit.

I certainly would be interested in buchnevich, my concern at that point would be the cap. He’s earned a raise for sure, but foligno is locked in for 3 years. Buchnevich would be added to a top 6 that looks like kk, rossi, fiala, boldy, Zuccarello, which is pretty solid. He would likely bump zuccarello or giveboldy more time. The issue on top of the cap is foligno being a beast of a shutdown player who can also score pretty well for his supposed skill. He’s exactly what any cup contender wants in a 3rd line player, big strong, skilled smart and hard as hell to play against. That’s why the wild would be loathsome to move him. I think you’d have a much better deal looking for a greenway/buchnevich type trade. You’d still get a hulking strong player who’s younger and on a better contract but would be a good swap for the rangers and wild. Wild get a bit more skill and scoring, the rangers get a huge physical presence that can play up and down. Just my humble opinion.

For Logan Stanley, Evolving Hockey has his projected term and AAV at 2 x $870,600. That probably means it rounds up to 2 x $900,000 or a bit more.

True, though you might have to wait until the last two years when his full NMC turns into a M-NTC.

Yeah- unless a contender emerges in a city (which is suitable to his wife’s career) which can use his services to the extent the Rangers can retain salary, good chance Trouba will be a Ranger at least another 3 years
