San Jose has a solid roster still employing youth:
      Sasha
      Leonard
      Chek
      Balcers
      Bara (tho he’s 26-27 lool)
      Merkley
      Knyzhov
      Ferraro
      Korenar

But we also have assets to trade if we suck again:
      Reimer
      Hertl
      Haula
      Simek

All being good trade targets for contenders (with Simek being a better asset for a playoff team not a cup contender).

So basically all top 10 teams stay in their current positions? If it were only that easy.

Would not touch Johnson in the top10 for any team. Eklund is the second best player in the draft, absolutely take him as our only legit top line forward of the future

Kent Johnson is the total DW pick, would be glad to have him.

SJ does not draft goalies, last time SJ drafted a decent goalie was 2005, and that was Alex Stalock. It's never gonna happen.

If Eklund somehow falls out of top 5 every team who passes on him after that will regret it. Honestly I wouldn't be too surprised if he is selected 2nd depending on what team is up there. Power or Berniers 1st I'd say then its a toss up from there

Personally I think the Sharks should draft Wallstedt if available but it’s not worth drafting up imo

I cannot predict the future? I just simply went with the standings that I think will be the outcome. As it’s reasonable to think teams like Van with a ton of games left could rack up a good chunk of points. But trying to say which team or the other wins the lottery is basically pointless. I could easily say SJS wins the lottery and moves up some spots to get whomever but that’s once again pointless. The point was to see who’s gone based on my own thoughts. Which are not final or set in stone lol; I would like to see Wallstedt or Guenther for the Sharks but I just don’t think we’ll get them picking 6th, with Wallstedt potentially there but Guenther likely gone.

I personally don’t know enough but Eklund so I cannot say you’re wrong. I went with Johnson solely because Johnson likely could transition to wing and has a lot of talent. Additionally the familiarity of Bordeleau and Johnson is hard to overlook. Seeing as how Ferraro and Leonard came from UMASS I wouldn’t put it past management to see even more desire to combine Johnson and Bordeleau as a future duo as they are top teammates this past year and going into the next college season. Doesn’t mean it’ll work at all but it’s just a thought.

Personally I see the highest stock in Wallstedt for the Sharks because I truly think he’s not a huge gamble. All goalies are gambles but I see Wallstedt like Knight. A great pick. Also if Lucius didn’t have a knee injury I’d think I’ve grown on him more recently to want to draft him. But knee injuries and the Sharks haven’t faired well (Hertl, Simek, Jumbo, etc). I really have no issue for who the Sharks draft unless it’s like Raty or drafting more OFD like Clarke (as I just don’t see value in stocking up on Karlsson, Burns, Merkley, Kniazev, Etc and Clarke). I like Clarke but he doesn’t fit well imo.

For me it’s Wallstedt or Guenther but we easily will miss out on Guenther I think.

6th overall is still up for grabs. Just need the Wings, Kings, Flames, Sens and Canucks to come in clutch for us.

Pass on Johnson though. If Eklund, Clarke or Lysell are still availible wherever we pick I’m taking of of them.

Yeah the guys above mentioned Eklund. I haven’t done a ton of looking on him and I’m a fan of Johnson. I don’t think Clarke is right for us tho (comment above from me about all our OFD). I’m fine with Lysell.

I’d think Guenther is my hope tho for the Sharks, with Wallstedt.

I agree with some of the guys above. I wouldn't take Johnson if Eklund and Edvinsson available. Going defense in this draft does intrigue me though, because the next two drafts are loaded at the top (where we're likely gonna pick) with offensive talent, so getting a defensemen like Edvinsson this year, and pairing that with Wright/Lambert/Savoie next year, and then Bedard/Michkov the year after that might be ideal.

I'd like to get Barabanov long term, he's legit, pt per game w/ Hertl & Kane. I don't see what most do in Leonard, he's like Donoto, both avg. IMO? I'm fine w/ Balcers on the 3rd L instead of Leonard & resign Nieto for the 4th L.
