    What do you mean kings ransom? It's likely to be less than Nino Niederreiter's 6 millions

    Fixed the Mikheyev deal. Nino should get a raise from his $5.25M AAV, though, with the season that he's having.

    Personally, I could see Hyman getting $6.5M-$7M from a cap floor club like Detroit. He's a useful player and a right shot.

    Detroit already got their guy in Bertuzzi. Not sure they'd risk big money for a 29 years old UFA

    Detroit lacks right shots in their forward lineup, though. Bertuzzi/Vrana/Larkin/Zadina are all left shots. Hyman fills a niche that their youth, FTMP, don't cover.

    Jets don't need Dermott, would just be a waste of assets, plus there's the expansion draft to consider.

    Nino isn’t worth close to that? The leafs aren’t giving up anything. Kerfoot is neutral value, a 5th is a 5th, and liljegren isn’t exactly anything special.

    I think the signing is good value for what he provides (talking as a Canes fan). It's only 750K/year more than he currently makes...

    If Nino wants 6 million, Leafs won't be the team to give it to him. Dubas likes Hyman and if he's willing to give 6 million to any player, then Hyman would be that player.

    If Hyman gets a competitive offer from the Leafs, he's likely staying.
