If he comes extended, what do you think would be the required package to bring Hertl to NYR?

This could be way off, but maybe something like: 2021 1st, Julien Gauthier, and Chris Kreider.

Don’t this SJS would do it. Krieder doesn’t have that much value of any because of his contract. A 1st and a higher end prospect than Gauthier is prob what it would take
Ladds right.
Hertl has already expressed interest in SJS, SJS has expressed full plans on playoffs and more next year (players and management), and SJS also requires Hertl in any form of winning.
Hertl I would say as a rental would cost a first and a prospect.
Hertl extended would cost more.
Even more so, if Hertl is acquired in the offseason; you would likely have to guarantee overpay. I made a post about it and most people seemed to understand/ be on the same Page generally. The price right now for Hertl won’t be cheap; it’ll be expensive. Because taking Hertl from us would be a negative effect for our: playoffs, internal success, leadership, and additionally I would assume the teammates wouldn’t be confident in succeeding without our 1C. The package wouldn’t be good for all these reason; for you as NY.
Example:
Your first (16th let’s say)
Chytil
That is an unacceptable package. With or without extension. Not at all an overpay but a great price for NYR; which is not what SJS is looking for. They’re selling Labanc most likely (we have a surplus of wingers not centers)
I suggested an overpay would be along the lines of that above package plus two prospects or georgiev and a prospect like Jones or Schneider maybe more or slightly different. It literally will not be an enjoyable package to send out as taking Hertl would halt/ hugely effect the plans of playoffs. So you’d have to make it a package that you “couldn’t” refuse type deal. He’s our best Center and a top player on the team.
