Eichel

Created by: pavelisgoat
Team: 2021-22 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: May 8, 2021
Published: May 8, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Like to get a little crazy sometimes. Obviously wouldn't happen and I would not support it, but exploring the Eichel option since Detroit does have a big need at C.
How high does the VAN pick need to be? I know ppl will say Seider and Raymond - I wouldn't trade Seider 1 for 1 with Eichel at this point, and Raymond I wouldn't want to add that much so wouldn't make sense.
Future LS D: Hughes, Wallinder, Johansson (and Werenski) to pair with Seider, Hronek and Lindstrom

When did i say he was bad, i said he doent score which you backed up

I never once mentioned you saying he was bad but rather trying to create a direct correlation of goal scoring to NHL success. Seems like your trying to argue your initial point by putting words into my mouth.

Well thats not what i was saying, thats why there is confusion. I wouldnt call him a good prospect if i didnt think he would have success in the NHL

i dont see whats so funny.

In description I say I wouldn’t trade Seider straight up for Eichel and then you say Seider and Larkin gets conversation started. I find it funny you did not read and also how far apart we would be on this value

Wings would be much better off, keeping those young assets, and spending 10m on UFAI(s) than just one 10m Eichel.
Don't know why the Sabres would be against the the trade, getting all those young assets and new found cap.

Yeah you’re correct, I wouldn’t do this trade as I stated in description. But sure is interesting to see how both sides view this idea. It’s a lot of assets in one trade, even if none are of the elite prospect level, 3 firsts easily should have 1 turn elite.

No its crap. I said Berggren is good, but thats it. Including the 3 picks in 2021, this draft sucks and everyone knows it. You have 3 players that couldn't make it in Detroit, 2 of which are dmen that have 0 chance in Buffalo and some unknown kid that may be 4-6 years away from an NHL debut. Picks dont make up value, and the Sabres should be getting as few as possible

At the most it’s 2 players that couldn’t make it in Detroit. If the third is McIsaac well he is a 2018 draft pick 36 overall and has been mostly injured since the draft. But even if he hadn’t been, I would suggest no chance he would have a shot at the NHL yet, Veleno selected 6 spots ahead of him just got his first 5 games as a forward, defence take longer. The other 2 are still relatively young and while they won’t live up to their draft position, it’s early to say they won’t be NHLers. I’m sorry, picks don’t have value in your eyes?

Gotcha, sorry this comment below just reads weird to me. I thought you were saying Berggren’s 12 goals doesn’t indicate NHL success.

Its crap, theirs 1 good forward prospect and he only had 12 goals, doesnt bode well translating to the NHL

seider straight up for eichel doesn't work. eichel is a known quantity and super star. seider, for all we know, could end up being a bust

Let's imagine none of those players traded to Buffalo don't work out to NHLer. But the Sabres still get 3 first rounders and second rounder....plus 10m to spend wisely (for once) in free agency.
It is completely impractical for teams to trade to Buffalo 10m worth of players and the picks for one Eichel.

Sabres have cap and picks are not worth that much, they can be 3 busts, at least we have knowledge of the player they are getting. Remember the Sabres have 7 total scouts

These are first round picks so just follow Bob McKenzie’s draft rankings if you can’t scout them yourself lol

Yeah i looked at his draft analysis and decide this year is garbage, 0 interest in even Buffalo's top 3 pick

I suggest that Buffalo management join CapFriendly and get some honest and accurate evaluations of players.
Sure wish Leafs management had done that during the "dark ages" when Ferguson, Burke and Nonis were GMs.
