So what's the deal with Pettersson does he have cooties or something? He is on just about every Pittsburgh ACGM done by Pittsburgh fans.

Ya, I was thinking with the flat cap and him getting older he might sign a one year deal and try to make one last run. U are probably right though.

No, I’m a big Pettersson fan. A 24 year old, LHD, that plays 18-22 minutes a night. Plays well on the PK and can play the Point on the PP too.

Never a minus(-) in his career yet and can move the puck well too.

3 consistent years on a play-off team and play-off experience. Very valuable in the NHL. And he’s still just 24 years old with more potential there. Long stick, long reach. I’m a fan.

It’s just the salary cap and with PO-Joseph, Friedman and Riikola all at LHD too. One of Matheson or Pettersson should go for salary cap reasons. U can’t have a 3rd pairing LHD making 4.2M per.

Having Matheson/Ceci and Pettersson/Marino was a luxury this year. Like having two 2nd pairings. All 4 play 16-22 minutes each night and on different nights get the high range minutes and more quality shifts. All 4 can play those shifts. That’s a luxury. You can’t afford that forever.

It’s either Pettersson or Matheson or the pens resign E-Rod for 750k. Or move Tanev up to the 3rd line RW and believe enough in Lafferty/Zohorna/OcConnor/Angello and move them up to the 4th line. Or maybe Caufield, who is a Pens prospect who is playing in the NCAA right now.

Poulin will probably see a year with the baby Pens for the WIlks-Bury Scranton Pens in the AHL b4 he’s ready and up with the big Pens.

For a late 3rd and a 4th I would probably take this but would Pittsburgh let him go that cheap.

Don’t think so. He’s way more valued in real life, by real life NHL GM’s, than fans on this site, for the reasons I mentioned in the last post.

And The same fans scream for A.Deangello, V.Mete, and S.Ghoustisbhere on this site. And they were all literally put on waivers and no GM in the NHL would even touch them for free. It’s why Pettersson will never be put on waivers. Too valuable. See M.Staal contract/trade C.Ceci contract, Matheson trade, J.Schultz contract, Jack Johnson contract. Good D-men are so valuable in the NHL.

24 year old D-men with 3 consistent years on a play-off team and play/off experience don’t just grow on trees. And 20 plus points a year for a D-men isn’t nothing.

Detroit accepts. One of the few AGM moving Pettersson to Detroit that makes sense on here, kudos to you for being realistic about value.
