weaponizing cap space doesn't mean just throwing huge offers at top free agents

So you are trading two young promising players in favor of a late first round pick and 10 mil in cap additions? This is a terrible trade for New Jersey

Still, two late first rounders? Be better off using those assets to improve in another spot. Like RD.

Of course Tampa loves the trade, it's NJ that doesn't.

Why would landeskog sign that to leave the avs when he would get that offer, as they have the cap structure to sign him makar and Grubauer to their values, leaving a cup contender team entering their window for a rebuilding franchise

players are not all about chasing a couple extra million dollars, winning and their families are more important to the vast majority than getting that bag.

It would have to be a gross low ball offer from the Avs and a gross over payment by another team for that relationship to sour. I think you would have to get closer to Panarin 11m aav money to get Landeskog to leave it all behind

9.5m just isnt enough for him to walk, he probably can get close to that with the avs around 8.5-9m. so like I said why would he walk for a 500k-1m aav leaving a cup team and uprooting his family where he now has 2 little kids raising in Colorado.

I do think its near 11m that avs cant come close to and he takes it. Anything else than a few extra 500k makes no sense

Throwing 5m Johnson on LTIR (for three years) isn't a plan. Do you think M NTC Killorn and Johnson have the Devils on their "trade to" teams.

it is, would be shocking if he did. Like something totally went wrong behind the scenes if thats the case since it already seems like they have a deal in place. They talked in the bubble last offseason, they talked before this season, both Sakic and Landy said they want to make him a life long avalanche and arent worried at all about getting a deal done.

Dude you're not getting 2 1st for Killorn and Johnson, Killorns not even a cap dump per say and fat chance they waive for NJ anyways.
