Might as well sign him to a multi-year contract then

he has better productions his year vs last season, so why would he only sign for 750k again if hes that useful, other teams will offer him more if hes in the tank.
I think hes probably closer to doubling his salary in the 1.25-1.5m range. Out producing Wayne Simmonds who signed for 1.5m

I agree. Still a solid player in his new role. I do think he’ll cost a smidge more than that.

It's his childhood team and likely took a discount to come here. Wouldn't be surprised to see him back on Jason Spezza type of deals

1m at least...you have to reward the guy as well for probably playing beyond expectations.
Could keep on doing cheap 1 year deals, but it looks like Montreal is playing Perry more than Spezza, roughly 3min more ATOI.

I mean Jason Spezza is also worth more than league minimum right now and I doubt him or Perry are chasing money at this point of their career. Perry has made dozens of millions in his career and has won everything he could. Perry is also playing more than he was supposed to because of the countless injuries

of for sure, I get that, and at this stage he is happy about fit more than anything. Just was more about if he really has all these multiple years left in the tank, he probably can get more and might even ask for a bit more.

Logic says he signs back in Montreal for 750k-1m range and is happy, value wise probably can ask for more on the open market

If he wants a bit more he can have it. My guess though, he probably doesn’t care if his contract says 750k or $1mm. Prob wants his team to have the best shot of winning.
