    ooooooh no my friends.
the tables have turned from "Buffalo is not trading Jack Eichel" to Jack Eichel wants out and leverage has now trotted off into the sunset.
can't wait to see the inevitable underwhelming return no matter where he goes.

Canucks decline easily. Horvat for Reinhart straight up would be fair (but they still wouldn't do it). You really gonna tell me Ristolanen is worth a 1st, 2nd, and Woo. I am interested in Reinhart tho just not for Horvat

Reinhart for Horvat is very even in terms of points..

Reinhart has 50 pts avg last 4 years
Horvat has 48 points avg last 4 years

Both centers, Reinhart is from the area... Look I don't want to trade Reinhart but it's a pretty fair deal.

I would agree to get rid of the 1st. I think Risto for Woo and a 2nd is fair. Reinhart is statistically better than Horvat.

can we please switch out Miller, I love his chemistry with Laf. I think that Schnieder would fit your needs better anyway we can throw in a 3rd as well

That's an incredibly quick turnaround for you.

It's going to be alright though. The Sabres still have leverage until his NMC kicks in. You'll still get a solid return, but probably not the insane package that a lot of you have been asking for.

I know we've been pretty much focused on NYR/LA/CGY/Minny being the potential landing spots, but there's going to be a solid market for him.

He will sit out under the guise of the injury disagreement. That's his leverage

The sabres tore down their entire team to land eichel and have wasted it for nothing

The symbolism of trading him with no playoffs is worse that however great the return is.

It also exposes how awful the org is

Sam Reinhart reallllly isn't a C though, he's just been forced into it due to the lack of depth on the Sabres. Horvat is an extremely strong 2C, and the perfect guy to play behind EP in more of a shutdown role.

Let him sit. Wait for someone to offer what you want. It's not like leaving him in the pressbox is going to make you any worse than you already are (sort of, but still...).

100% - people will lose their minds now and say the Sabres have no leverage. It's actually the opposite, as Eichel is coming off of a lousy season by his standards and has one full season and two offseasons till his NMC kicks in. Pretty simple stuff here, get healthy, play well, get traded next off season. Win win all around

as much as i enjoy busting your balls, i was never doing it maliciously.
and i know you were always looking at it through your Buffalo Beer goggles so you couldn't see it.
but this has been a long time coming.

as for Eichel to the Rangers - yes, i absolutely would love to see it. however, i'm more so in the minority of Ranger fans that would like to see this team compete somewhat organically. i hope whatever happens, they don't destroy what they took the time to build over the past 3/4 years.

Rangers decline. Trade would have to start with Buch. They'll give up as little as possible for him... not that I want him on the Rangers anyway.

    Buck up.

    1. Buffalo is at least a season away from trading Eichel. He should be a cornerstone of your future, but if not, he'll bring a good return.

    2. Buffalo is at least a season away from trading Reinhart. He should be a cornerstone of your future, but if not, he'll bring a good return.

    3. Dahlin and Samuelsson show every sign of being very good, especially as a 1-2 LD punch.

    4. Cozens, Quinn, Johnson, Peterka and UPL all show signs for optimism. That's 6 (assuming one of Johnson and Samuelsson and one of Peterka and Quinn pans out) of your top 10 skaters plus your goalie of the future (if not Ullmark). Add this year's first, a new coach and new GM, and things will improve.

I feel bad cause they were all in denial. A lot of people kinda thought he was gone no matter what. Just because a player doesn’t say it publicly doesn’t mean he doesn’t want out. Just like when players say yeah I’m willing to re sign here or I love playing here. Parise is a prime example of that. Don’t belive what the coach/gm/players say unless you’re in the know. Cause they will always say the right thing and not throw their team under the bus.

What’s the most telling in that presser was when he said, “I got do what’s best for me”.He may have been talking about his neck situation but I don’t know.
