there are parts to like on this deal. Though I wonder if the Sabres would look elsewhere to shore up the goaltending (poaching a Vanecek or Adin Hill before they can be exposed in expansion to Seattle). Now if Ullmark is not back - then the urgency for a goalie will only increase.

I would take that and run if I were Buff. I know he is a great player, but from all accounts he is a diva and causes a lot of friction, so I would start over without the prick....but that's just me.

Adams can't screw this up like Botterill did with O'Reilly - thats all I'll say

The part I like about this deal is it's actually got good stuff but doesn't break NYR in value. prospects or contract.

Not saying he didn't screw up that deal royally but TBF it looked a lot worse based on Ryan's play in STL than it did on paper when it happened.

This is a pretty good haul. Eichel hasn't really helped the Sabres out with his comments. He's making it hard for Addams to get top value......

If his surgery takes until half way through next season then they should just keep him through the offseason and the expectations will die down. They can still move him before he's healthy.
