Capitals trade prior to expansion draft.
SDA and Anderson to Seattle to in order to keep Vanecek on Leafs.

Would Saad sign a 1 year 3 million deal?

Another thought, don't sign Foligno and bring me Galchenyuk but I'm hesitant on that.

Over pay on Dermott. Had the opportunity to show his worth last year in the bubble, couldn't do it. let Seattle take him. Rather give up him then SDA

Have to disagree.
Dermott has more in him.

My usual thought is to sign him to 1 year deal at his QO and then extend him to this deal but 1 year less term

Too little $ and term for Saad. Too much $$$ for Foligno.
Gee, I don't know folks are always down on Dermot. He constantly gets the worse partners to play with and holds up his side of the ice.

Any idea on other bodies to consider beyond Saad?
I'm surprised you think Folingo will get less.

4.5m x 4. The tofolli deal is a fair comp, very similar production

At the 3m you want to sign Saad for, Brock McGinn makes sense for the leads at that price tag and 3rd like role. Guys good defensively and on the pk with some offensive ability

When Muzzin went down in the bubble last year and Dermott stepped up, he couldn't handle it. No way the leafs would ever offer him more than 1 million. even that is unlikely. This year Dermott's play has also sucked. Has like 6 points in 54ish games. Any player that produces that little can't be paid more than 1 mil. Don't argue that he doesn't produce cuz hes better defensively, cuz that is simply not true.

Foligno is a 35 point guy player. Really a third liner. Saad will be looking for a bigger payday on maybe his last big contract. I'd rather keep Kerfoot, as it may be asking a lot for think Semyonov and Brooks to be regular centre. Maybe Leafs Dermot and Holl exposed. Only one will be selected, and then with that 2 million allotted to them, find a Bogosian type player.

To be honest tho, besides Muzzin, nobody has consistently played well until this season. Yes I'm putting Rielly in that bunch of D and people can disagree but before this season every guy was having up and down games, from game to game.

Dermott just tends to take the brunt of it on Capfriendly.
