I'm not disagreeing about the being in a good position, it's just making the cap work.

I don't see BUF taking this trade. It's Rossi (saying he's 100%) + 3 late 1sts. BUF needs to get a quality NHL player back, not just futures. Dumba isn't needed, Kaprizov and JEE are basically untouchable. So I'm looking at Fiala + Rossi + 1st as the ballpark BUF would be looking to get from MN.

This would work better if it were rossi, dumba, rask and 2 1sts. Cause then the cap works and Expansion is handled. Maybe add another prospect or something. Certainly not boldy, Addison or menell but maybe someone else.

Buffalo not taking Rossi as a center piece. He still needs to prove he's healthy and has no long term heart damage from covid and that he's even still good enough after not playing much in a long time

Dumba does nothing for BUF, and Rask does nothing for BUF; that is the rub. Rossi has a big question mark with him until he proves he's heathy and plays like the high pick he was.

I think you'd have to trade Fiala just to make the money work. I haven't figured out a way to keep KK, Fiala, JEEK, and Greenway while still getting Eichel. Even buying out Rask our trading him for a third and Dumba going to the Kraken isn't enough.

It can work if Dumba, Soucy, and Rask/Talbot are all gone and replaced with ELC/league min players. Kaprizov at $8.5m. Fiala at $6m, and JEE at $5m.
