Ottawa traded Mark Stone in his final year before UFA and basically only got back Erik Brannstrom and a second. This is a much better package for someone who isn't as good as Stone.

Poulin, who projects as good middle six winger within the next year or two. A first in a better draft. And a defenseman who can actually defend.

Pettersson is fine, just not big on Poulin

That’s a lot for pgh to give up.

Gave up a 1st and Hallander for Kappy. Hallander was the Pens 5-6th ranked prospect( a B-, C+ prospect at best). Poulin is a top 100 prospect in the NHL. On any list. He’s a A, A- prospect. Plus you’re adding Pettersson. And Friedman. That’s a lot for Reinhart IMO.

Clearly you haven’t paid attention to Pittsburgh’s top prospects over the years. For some reason fans in other cities think our prospects are bad because we don’t have many, that’s a pretty simplistic way to look at it... especially when our draft picks have a higher rate of success than pretty much every other franchise in the league

Then just say that lol

All indications are that he will be a good NHLer, though. And the pens will do right to properly develop him before bringing him to the big show.

The “for Pittsburgh” just seemed like you thought we don’t have good prospects. Just wanted to make clear that we don’t have a large quantity but we do have some legit future NHLers in there
