Big nope from STL. there may be some interest in Sundqvist for Olofsson but Girgensons has zero value for us.

A big ole no from Minnesota wild

Wild don't need or want Rasmus r who won't play on wild

Wild are the last team needing d. They also aren't taking on any cap dump

As for Sam reinhart, him being a free agent, & him wanting out will get a 1st round pick, & prospect at best

Sam is a career 36.1 percent @ face-offs

MN can't just take on roughly $9m in cap for futures. If you made it Dumba+Rask+1st instead I think that it could be tweaked to make it work for both sides.

To add to what the others said, we're likely looking to move a RD (Dumba), not add more of them. We have 2 prospects that should be getting NHL ice time next year. Adding Risto just blocks them further. Also, we need to drop cap to comfortably re-sign our RFAs so this trade does absolutely nothing positive for us.

I think the trade has potential, just the wrong things are going back to BUF. If BUF took just Rask and SEA takes Dumba ($10m) then the cap is cleared and MN to make a roster next year. It's tight but it would work.

I'm not sold on Reinhart as a center, but I do think he and Fiala would be a potent combo on the same line. Zucc, Parise, or Greenway would have to be shipped off after next season though.

If everything went right going into 22-23:
Boldy/Rossi/Kaprizov
Fiala/Reinhart/Zucc
Greenway/JEE/Foligno
Sturm?/Hartman/current AHLer

Brodin/Menell
Suter/Spurgeon
Soucy/Addison

Eichel deal looks right. Both sides end up happy if not thrilled (Kings keeping Byfield is a big win in any Eichel deal).

Reinhart deal look a little light value-wise even without Risto (who would get more value himself with that retention at the trade deadline) as both the picks are late-ish. I'd expect A prospect and a 1st at a minimum for Reinhart.

Words can't even describe how horrible that ues trade is. Blues have zero interest in Girgensens and Olf is just okay. Dunn is a promising young defenseman and Sundqvist is a solid bottom 6 center who can play in a 2c role if need be. No thanks.
