I think that trades makes sense for both PIT/DAL -- good idea.

That's a pretty bad trade for the Pens. Faksa's contract is not great and Pettersson has actually been very good for the Pens since he joined.

I’d be happy if the Pens made this deal. 3.25M, long term for a good two-way 3C isn’t a bad contract at all. And the Pens leave Blueger unprotected and next year have:

Guentzel/Sid/Rust,
McCann/Geno/Kappy,
Zucker/J.Carter/Gaudreau,
ZAR/Faksa/Tanev.

And:

Dumoulin/Letang,
PO-Joseph/Marino,
Matheson/Ceci.

You’re under valuing Fox. I’d say both players would go for second round and fourth round picks
