That would be a very easy yes from SJ, highly doubt Meier returns that much right now.

He's gone down hill since 18-19, he struggled to make any sort of notable impact for most of the year, and often got kicked out of the top 6.

The kind of package you are offering would be a yes for Hertl.

He is also set to make 10 mil in actual dollars in the final year of his deal. I’m no rocket scientist but that’s a big no from Eugene.

Probably an overpay at this point in time to be honest. I would take it though.

He's not been terrible, he just hasn't been the play driving power forward monster he was in 2018-19 sadly. He could very easily return to form, but at the same time the Sharks would be selling low on him at the moment.

Can't see Batherson making that much.

Can't see the Sharks trading Meier (who based on this year, that package is too much for).

I think Batherson is more likely to get a 2 year x 3.75 mill. But if they can sign him longterm to a steal like White, I’d jump on it

Yeah, agreed about his potential current return, but I also think that his (hopefully temporary) decreased value means he won't be moved - Doug Wilson keeps talking about contending next season and I don't see how selling low on Timo would work with that.

Doubt he gets moved, Sheng did an article about it a few days ago.

That is quite a haul for Meier.
Could get Hertl, Arvidsson...maybe Laine for that package.

No. It wouldn't be a yes. It would be a maybe. Meier led the Sharks in scoring last season, and was a 30 goal scorer the season prior. His .6 pts/gm is only down slightly from last year and you don't give up a player who is probably a perennial 30 goal scorer for one bad season when the entire team was terrible and he had an un-sustainably low shooting percentage (as much a product of luck as anything else) while being bounced around the lineup because of incompetent coaching. His underlying numbers have been of top 6 quality.

None of the players involved in the trade have demonstrated they are capable of making the impact that Meier has already demonstrated he can make. They way that trades are evaluated is to evaluate at the time of the trade, and the team that wins the trade is the team who gets the best player in the trade. That would absolutely be Ottawa.
