What is the logic for the Isles acquiring soon to be UFA Bishop for a top Dman prospect?

The trade clearly indicates picks going back if he doesn't re-sign, its worth a shot. He's not going to be able to go to a good team nobody has that type of cap room and if you are a good team then you already likely have a number 1. Dallas might be a fit but I doubt Tampa would want to take back a bad contract in Niemie or Lehtonen. Also Pulock would be exposed in expansion (as Isles would proctect Boychuk, Leddy, Hamonic) unless the Isles protect 4d but then they may lose a good forward. So please factor that in before posting a stupid comment on every single post.

Thanks,

Yes meanwhile your proposal of Boychuk and Nelson for Palat is considered genius on the Islanders end of things....
