I think if you're going this years' first, you're looking at more likely sending Eriksson instead of Roussel.

The Pacific is so weak next year that the Canucks are almost a shoe-in for 3rd in the division behind Vegas and Edmonton. The Kings are likely finishing fourth unless Seattle pulls a Vegas and steamrolls everyone. Could be a swing of like at least 8 places in the draft depending on the lottery

Not enough for Reinhart. Doubt a cap dump, a first rounder and a middling prospect will do.

He is more then likley walking next year so, a b prospect, a top 7 pick really should be enough imho especially when the sabers have zero leverage

The issue with adding Roussel, Beagle, or Eriksson to the deal is that they all have modified NTC and I'd imagine Buffalo is on everyone's NTC right now. Maybe they waive just for the chance to play in the league still but it is a barrier

The taxi squad was a one year deal, There's no taxi squad next season. So technically you're going to be over the salary cap with a 23 man roster.

Threatening to bury them in the AHL might get someone to waive

Ya I don't think it's impossible that's for sure especially for Roussell. Loui honestly might not care at this point whether he plays or not.

I like to know where you think you're coming up with the cap space to sign Reinhart? Basically Vancouver has $15,800,000 to sign 8 players and Hughes and Pettersson basically eat all that up by themselves.

Why would Reinhart sign for 5 years in Vancouver and only one year in Buffalo??

Zero leverage?? They have 30 teams, 31 if they swing a deal with TB, vying for Reinhart's services.

He want's out of Buffalo and has the desire to go back to the west coast no way he signs a long term deal in buffalo, but on his home town team with an upwards swing you defiantly have his attention

if you think Reinhart is worth a 10 pick in a deep draft by all means have the flames pull the trigger on that

If you think that after acquiring Reinhart you are still a bottom 10 team in the league in a very weak division then you should not be acquiring Reinhart.

Regardless my point was that your offer is horrible and the protection is the cherry on top

Reinhart could say he wants to go to arbitration and sign a one year deal and walks for free seeing Buffalo would not be able to trade him. A 2022 first round pick is something you should think long and hard about. He would be an UFA in 14 months.

I don't think we would be but injury's happen sometimes and you just never know look at ottawa in the duchene deal, a first round pick in a deep draft plus a b+ propsect is more then good enough for a guy that is walking in 13 months

Oh i 1000% agree that alone about him walking gives buffalo zero leverage, i'd give up a 2022 1st as long as its not a lottery pick which i don't think it will be we will be in a weaker division with probaly the best top 9 in that devison only with Vegas in our way, We would finally have really good winger depth and if you get a guy like Wennberg who imho is miles better then sutter this team can really do some damage

tbh i was just to lazy to move them but most of those players would be in the minors it would be nice to have the extra spot to scratch someone incase of an injury but with our farm team in Abby next year really doesnt bother me not having a full 23 roster

So you just ignored the value of them taking on your cap dump and pretended that no other team would be in on him. Got it

Lol like it has been said numerous times he wants to play in the west coast he is a hometown boy looking to go home, to dump roussel it would be at most a 3rd hell he might not even need to be apart of the trade as he is more then likely going ltir next year are we going to ignore he is going to walk and sign with Vancouver in 13 months anyway, got it
