Reinhart was tied for 10th in the league in goals and plays center. Buffalo would also be taking on 2 cap dumps in this trade to help the Canucks.

Way too much Vancouver to possible one year of Reinhart. D'Angelo is a very cheap buyout, Rangers would do that instead of giving up two picks.

Risto's also not a fit on the Rangers, he'd be their 3rd (potential 4th if Lundkvist steps in as well as he's shown in the SHL) best RHD.

Depends on who is available when we pick but could see that being way more likely

King's won't trade Byfield, if Turcotte, Kupari, and a 1st can't get it done, I'd try with another team.

That is better but as a poster here said depends who is available? When is Reinhart a UFA ? If he doesn't want to sign there he could sit out and become a free agent. Lot's of insiders saying he wants to play out west. I think Holtby Gadjovich and a 2022 first is doable

????? Reinhart can sign a one year contract...even if just a 5.2m qualifying offer and then be a UFA in 22/23.

He can turn down Buffalo's qualifying offer and follow up offers and request arbitration for one year only. He will be awarded more than 5.2 . Buffalo can not then trade him and he is an UFA at the end of the year .

I believe the arbritration rules state, that whatever party asks for arbitration, the other party has the right to make it a one or two year contract. Hence Reinhart wouldn't ask for arbitration.

That is true . Buffalo's problem is Reinhart wants out . It limits their strength .

I've said to before with Eichel and his 10m contract and somewhat Reinhart. Teams just can't fit this contracts into lineup without returning cap to the Sabres. Teams could spend 10m on UFA, and keep their futures picks instead of trading for Eichel And in Reinhart's case, the Flames wouldn't want to waste any futures on player they might just stay for a year.
The best value the Sabres will get from a Eichel or Reinhart trade is cap space. For Sabres fans, here's hoping the Sabres don't waste that space on players like they did 15m worth of Skinner and Okposo.

I was tinkering before and wondering how could this work for both teams . A simple swap of JT MIller for Reinhart is close to fair or they could look at something bigger like Skinner Colin Miller and Reinhart which would provide long term cap relief for a short term hit.

Miller Reinhart and Skinner for JT Miller Holtby Roussel Eriksson and the 2021 second .
Roussel and Loui Eriksson are one year cap dumps and equal Skinners salary for a year.
