Malkin just last season was on pace for over 110 points and was one of the best players in the NHL. I’ll gladly roll the dice with him. He got off to a bad start but started to heat up prior to injury. Pens will not be “dumping” him

Bold of you to assume any UFA would sign with Buffalo at this point. Other than players in Europe who can't really break out in the league via other routes.

That would be true...if skinner was playing playing at that 60 point pace. Over the past two seasons he’s been at an 82 game pace of 27 points. He’s playing like a 1.5 million dollar player. Sabres save 7 million, which they can then use as they see fit.

Obviously you trade malkin if they could get eichel. Issue is, they don’t have the pieces to get eichel.

I bet we could over pay a guy 3 mil a year to come here like Galchenyuk or namestikov as examples. Theres plenty of opportunity for buffalo to sign more bad deals. But this is exactly my point. If we have to keep any of skinners money it doesn't solve the skinners bad contract problem. It just moves us to a new bad contract. Ooorrrrrrr we rush a prospect and put them on a bad team before they're ready, its not like a single one of the players coming back is making sabres better then if they just kept eichel. Then we're just saving money to have a bad team...thats not the trend in buffalo.
