Since technically Keith Petruzzelli can become a UFA we can only offer him a 2 year deal, And Yzerman isn't giving Bertuzzi no 1 year deal that takes him to free agency that's not happening. And Vrana gets 5 or 6 years more then likely. No need for Demers and i'd rather bring Alec Martinez home then sign Jamie Oleksiak

Oleksiak is a big, physical and fast LD. Worth it. Gamer. Underrated offensive ability.
Demers is a RD who can play extra minutes when Hronek/Seider go through a tough spell.

Martinez is going to cost and arm and a leg with his point production.
Yzerman isn't going to buy high on him.
Bertuzzi's got a tough contract coming up.

I'm with ya on oleksiak. We know they arent going to spend big money on ufas but this guy can be had and he'd really help.

Oleksiak has some defensive gaps and we'd essentially be making him a top pairing guy, which I don't think he is, so it'd be another case of putting a 2nd pairing guy, albeit a very good one, in the wrong role. As for Demers, we are already overloaded on the right side, that would just be a pointless signing that doesn't even move the needle. Hard pass on Demers.
