Does it really matter, do we really think Perfetti is going to be the difference between this team winning a cup or not, sorry but I highly doubt it.

Going to this tournament will be better for his development anyway.

If ehlers or stasny go down, perfetti probably best replacement would be my thoughts. Nothing against Appleton copp or harkins. But the more skilled perfetti could be of some help

I’ve never seen a player from a playoff team at the world championships, and just don’t see the fight in the squad this year. Maybe leafs game will get them rolling

Isn’t he supposed to be in the black aces, and surprise hattrick in the later rounds, like Lonnie bohonos

I guess the Jets believe that if someone in the top 6 gets injured they could bring up Vesalainen, Harkins, Toninato, Gustafsson or Luoto into the bottom 6 and then promote Copp or Appleton into the top 6.

Have you ever seen a guy make a world championship team and still be eligible for the playoffs? I understand it and don’t mind it, but don’t think I’ve ever seen it.

Doesn't really matter to me. Its a weird year, usually you don't have AHL players in the world championships unless there is some sort of disruption to the NHL.

It’s definitely odd that a playoff team is sending a guy like Perfetti there. But they likely know he’ll develop the most over there. Just seems like a smart decision. Jets are in a tough spot vs Edmonton.

I agree. I just looked at the World Championship schedule and the first game is on the 21st and I doubt they would be able to take any players from the North Division who were eliminated in the first round. Even a four game sweep wouldn't see players released until the May 26/27 (my guess) and then after travel there must be some sort of testing/quarantine protocol which would keep them out of the lineup until early June which would be the start of the medal round.

Honestly it's one of the better decisions this organization has ever made.

I agree. Definitely super smart to send him there over having him skate with them team during playoffs.

I haven’t seen him play yet, world championships will be the first time, I think it’s a awesome move, just kinda shocked me with never ever seeing it before. That’s what I do appreciate about the Jets organization is the over cautious approach with prospects. I think lafreniere has a faster start and better season if he goes to world juniors, but that’s not here nor there when it comes to the Jets. I still think they should as a whole in hockey move the bantam draft to 16 and nhl draft to 20, kind of a nba approach and give some of these players a fighting chance at high school and or college. Have the kids stay closer to home longer, obviously change some of the exceptional status rules, but also improve junior and college and possibly force everyone go through ahl for sometime also. But this is a rant for another day and probably another forum. Go Jets go, beat the oil and get your legs under ya for a ran at the stinkin leafs
