Description
Jack Eichel Trade is about the best offer they could get and it’ll likely be less than this.
If the standings stay the same then the LA pick would be 9th overall and I expect they’d take Jesper Wallstedt. They need a franchise G pretty bad. The Flames pick for Reinhart would be 10th overall and I think Chaz Lucius would be a great pick. I would suggest they grab a RD but the only one near that spot is Corson Ceulemens and it’s a reach at #10. They could trade down or even trade the pick straight up for an established RD.
I’d move Ristolainen at the TDL and hope his trade value increases by then.

So you're about to tell me Calgary will only need a first rounder to get same reinhart? A top scorer from the season? No I don't think so.

Reinhart is at least a 1st plus two other solid pieces

That pick would be a top ten pick if that matters. Otherwise what else do the Flames throw in? Mangiapane?

This draft is not that great. Id say keep the first in there plus Dube/Mangiapane and even a prospect

Lol nope, you just dont know anything about the draft. 1-20 is solid but lacks a superstar talent at the top. Mason McTavish is expected to be availanle around Calgary's pick and he just lit up the U-18 tournament.

Reinhart may get the 1st and a B prospect, but if you think he gets a lotto pick and a young top 6 core roster player you are out to lunch

a 65-70 point player that plays wing and center is not worth a lotto pick and you player? Lol ok

They would be more open to trafing Turcotte. I dont think they sell for Eichel personally

So where does Eichel end up if not LA? I figure they have the best chance. Cap space and elite prospects.

LA has the best assets to get him, but not really the need. He will likely cost them their 1st this year (and/or next year) as well as Turcotte plus another decent prospect like Kupari. IMO LA is better off staying course and drafting defense this year

I agree. If I was Blake I’d definitely stay the course. No need to rush but doesn’t mean it won’t happen. If not LA then what team gives the best offer??

NYR is an obvious one, Calgary, Minnesota, and Columbus will all definitely be in on him. Seattle and Arizona probably as well

Buffalo wants another top C in return and those teams do not have one. The Rangers are the next best suitor.

Nobody is giving Buffalo that. Turcotte is even a reach. Buffalo is going to get a solid collection of futures that sets them up nicely for drafting Shane Wright and/or Connor Bedard in the next few years. Don't over value Eichel, he is currently injured, has spoken out about friction between him and the team, and wants to do an experimental neck surgery.

Lol. Quite right. Sam Reinhart might get decent return. Might actually not be able to trade Eichel until next offseason right before his NTC kicks in. It’ll be tough.

I just posted this in another thread, this is what I expect the value to be:
    Quoting: Ledge_And_Dairy
    - Veteran player (if a cap dump the value of the rest of the package has to go up)
    - young top 9 caliber NHLer with more than 2 years of team control (either still on ELC or just got off ELC)
    - One of the following 2 options:
    > Option 1. recent top end draft pick + mid/late 1st
    > Option 2. recent mid/late 1st rounder + a high draft pick

That is probably around the value it will cost to acquire Eichel

I think a conditional pick on his health/performance may be added as well

We have 2.5 months until the draft so I wonder if that’s enough time to determine if Eichel’s surgery will be a success or not.

the success factor is put on hold until the team actually agrees to let him get it

But based on your value assessment then Turcotte, Quick and a 10th overall pick is near that wheelhouse Quick ups the value of the other pieces. Just have to drop Matt Roy out of the deal which is really too bad for Buffalo.

I think teams should be more proactive about getting their players surgery done sooner. The Oilers would not be dealing with a potential Klefbom retirement had they just gotten him his surgery a few seasons ago.

Drop Roy and add Kupari and its probably a pretty decent offer. But I also said I dont think LA is willing to do that, They still have Kopitar for at least 3 more years and bringing in Eichel ends up just blocking the development of players like Vilardi and Byfield down the middle. LA will probably call Buffalo but I dont see them paying the highest bid even if they have the resources

The problem is Eichel and his camp want a surgery that's never been done on an NHL player before (cervical disk replacement), whereas the Sabres management and team doctors don't want to

As for an example of what the other teams I mentioned could offer. I think this is pretty close from a Flames perspective

    Monahan (vet player)
Dube (young top 9 NHL player coming off ELC)
    Zary/Pelletier (recent mid/late 1st)
    10th/11th OA (high 1st rounder)
    FLA 2022 2nd
