Description
so lets begin this wild adventure.
we start at the seattle expansion. They take howden. Then we get to the draft. As our pick approaches, pittsburgh sees a player they want (idk mason mctavish?). we trade 16oa for 2022 1st, 2022 4th, and 2022 5th. Further into the draft the panthers call the rangers regarding buchnevich. the rangers decide that at this point he will be too expensive on a plethora of wingers so they package him and chytil with our 2022 2nd for owen tippet and Anton Lundell. the draft concludes and the rangers begin the 2022 campaign. we are a middle of the pack team with our young players developing however, if the divisions stay the same, we miss playoffs. at the 2022 tdl, washington is looking to win another cup as its window is about to close and they need a top6 center. strome has been producing exceptionally this season so rangers are able to trade him for a 2022 1st and 2022 3rd. The rangers do miss the playoffs and luckily (or unluckily) end close to the bottom. they do not win the draft lottery, which goes to seattle, but they have the 4OA pick. They decide that at this point they need a future superstar center so they call seattle whos in need of a rhd with a package of the 4OA pick, pittsburgh pick (which is 12 OA bc they missed playoffs), washingtons pick which is 20 as they lose in the second round after sneaking into playoffs, and Jacoub Trouba for a prospect they dont want, and the 1 OA pick. Rangers select Shane Wright, the superstar center they needed. At the end of the fist, minnesota wanted to adress their weakness at net so they call about georgiev. the rangers offer a package of reuanen and georgiev for picks and minnesota accepts. after the draft ends, the rangers realize that they need to resign key parts of this team (mika, kakko, kravy, tippet, and fox). Fox as the best dman in the league, deserves money, but instead takes a discount to stay in NY signing a 56 mil contrct over 8 years. Mika knowing that he will help wright develop signed a 3 year deal worth 8 mil which will expire once wright needs a new deal. kravstov signs a bridge deal of 2.5mil for 3 years and kakko does a laine esc deal of 4 mil for 4 years. tippet gets a raise of a bridge of 1.5 for 2 years. The rangers come out flying during the 2023 campaign, eventually winning the cup. at the 2023 draft, they facilitate a trade with colorado, the scf losers (sorry avs fans) to trade their 2023 1st for a 2024 1st and a 2024 4th which colorado accepts. That ends the story for now. might do a part 2 which ends in 2025 or 2026.

That's going to be a no from the Caps. Strome is good, but the caps have plenty of C talent and don't need another one.

      SEA - declines, take Blackwell
      FLA - declines quite easily
      WAS - gives a 2nd instead
SEA - trades Shane Wright for Jacob Trouba?

Also, must be a brutal 2nd half next year without Strome...to go from "middle of the pack team" at deadline to 4th overall pick. That is like going 1-20 down the stretch.

      Haha...I got that.
I'd be fine with Rangers picking 4th next year.
So I am with you on that.
