Interested to see what people would give up to get Eichel. I think Minnesota could be insane with Eichel.

I'm thinking Reinhart is a more reasonable target for MN. It'll be much easier to make the cap work for him and not cost the farm like Eichel will.

Ek reportedly is off the table.

I think our max offer would be something like Fiala, Rossi, a 1st this year, and maybe a 2nd/prospect (like Beckman). Ideally we move Dumba for cap/expansion reasons, but I'm not sure Buffalo really needs him.

I think that would be a competitive offer certainly. Not sure if a team like LAK or NYR can match. There of course will be factors in play such as is the trade partner in the division or conference, i dont see Eichel going to any in division team, are the Sabres getting a blue chip Center prospect back, etc.

LA or NYR could top it. They have some bigger name prospects and better picks than MN does.

Purely depends on what LA and NYR are willing to give up. If Byfield and Lafreniere are on the table, there's no way we can make a better offer. But if LA will only give up Turcotte and NYR will only give up Kakko AND the Wild are willing to move Rossi, it's a lot more up in the air. I do have a hard time believing Buffalo wants to move him to NYR since they're within the conference, but you never know.

I think the draft lottery will have a lot to do with how this shakes out. If the Sabres win the draft lottery and choose Matt Beniers then getting a center prospect in return for Eichel may not be a priority. If they choose someone else especially when Beniers is still available that could signify something completely different. They might actually think they could convince Jack he doesn’t want to leave.

I don’t think the Sabres would be willing to trade Jack within the conference, never mind the division. Minnesota is a possibility, and the return would be very interesting. Dumba would be an interesting piece, as a way to spin this deal as the Sabres trying to still get better right now. It would still be an exceptionally costly trade, even with Dumba included, Fiala, and Rossi or Boldy could still be necessary. I don’t really think Minnesota would do that.

Personally I'd probably be OK with moving Fiala, Rossi, Dumba, and a first. It's a really high price but it fixes a lot of problems for us with expansion and cap-wise.

Fiala and Rossi I'd be okay parting with for Eichel. I wouldn't be okay with Fiala and Boldy. Dumba becomes a cap casualty whether it's directly involved in an Eichel trade or not.
