      NJD mathematically cannot pick 3rd overall (its 1, 2, 4, 5 or 6)
      Quinn Hughes cannot be offer-sheeted
And NJD isn't trading Jack Hughes

That leaves them with only 3 mil and only 21 skaters between their nhl and ahl team

Lol Vancouver only has 15 mil in cap space next season and only 20 skaters between the nhl and ahl, If van matches on hughes the petterson is gone

The pick number doesn’t matter it’s just based off where they sit In the standings rn, hughes can be offer sheeted because his contract expires after this season
And I’m not trading jack hughes I’m saying the 2022 pick is used to select jack hughes

Hughes cannot be offer-sheeted since he doesn't have the service time.
Needs one more year to be group 2 RFA. He is a 10.2(c) player.
Got it on Jack Hughes 2.0.

Well I guess but Quinn could also just sit out the season and sign with NJ next year

      Seattle though

Seattle can only select one player and will want a lot in return for cap dumps

Or sign a 1-year deal and get offer sheet next summer.
(not going to hold my breathe)
